THE NEW LAW WHICH IS HELPING FOREIGN NATIONALS TO BUY REAL ESTATE IN CROATIA

From 01.02.2009. all foreign nationals (members of EU) can buy a real estate in Croatia with the same rights and obligations like they are citizens of Croatia. This kind of law preposition has been harmonised with the Croatian obligations in Stabilisation and Association Agreement which has been come into effect from 2005. This means that all foreign nationals (members of EU) from above mentioned date, can have belonged real estate as many as they wish. Before this, they could buy only one real estate in Croatia and only with permission from Ministry of Justice.

Croatia already had a 4 years transit period during which foreign nationals could buy a real estate in Croatia but only if croatian citizens could buy a real estate in their country (the same conditions).
